You must complete your course at The Professional School of Business
before applying for the state examination

Before making your reservation: Please obtain a copy of the New Jersey Real Estate Candidate Handbook from the school or Pearson Vue. The Handbook contains important information on the testing and license application processes.
Testing Reservation Procedures: Reservations may be made Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO TEST, CALL Pearson Vue CUSTOMER CARE TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-274-7153 or fax a Reservation Form to (215)925-7756. Candidates must have proper documentation (i.e., School Certificate or Certificate of Exam Eligibility) before calling Pearson Vue to make a reservation to test.
Reservation Deadlines: Telephone deadline: At least one business day before an examination

Testing Fees: Salesperson  $60
Broker    $60

Examination fees must be paid at the time exam reservation is made. Payment will not be accepted at the test center.

Special Instructions: Please refer to the Candidate Handbook for detailed information regarding examination and license eligibility.
What to bring with you to the test center*:
  • Two forms of signature identification, one of which MUST be photo bearing.
  • The Confirmation Number you were given when you made your examination reservation

Salesperson candidates must bring the following:

  • Original School Certificate, indicating the completion of 75 hours of prelicense education.

Broker candidates must bring the following:

  • Original Certificate of Examination Eligibility, indicating approval by the NJREC to test.

Score reporting All candidates will receive an official score report immediately following completion of their examination.
Re-examination
rules:
If you fail a test and wish to retake it, you must wait 24 hours before calling Pearson Vue to make a new reservation. The examination is divided into two parts: the General section and the New Jersey State Law section. If you pass one section of the examination and fail the other, you need to retake the entire examination.
Absenses/Refunds: You may cancel or change an exam reservation without penalty provided you follow the policy established by Pearson Vue. See the Candidate Handbook for details.

*Pretest questions are used to gather statistics on performance and to help assess the questions appropriateness for use on future examinations. Pretest questions are not scored yet they are designed to look and perform like questions that are scored so you should answer ALL questions in the exam.
